Kokum Rasam/SoupRecipe





Kokum Rasam/soup recipe is a very yummy vegan or vegetarian appetizer recipe. It can be eaten with rice as a rasam, or it can be enjoyed on its own as a soup.




You will need 4 or 5 kokum pods, some water, a teaspoon each of salt and pepper, half a teaspoon of mustard seeds, a whole dry red chilli, a few and curry leaves and a teaspoon of oil. It is a very easy to make recipe.




Soak the kokum pods in water for about 2 minutes. Then boil the water along with the pods. Add the salt and pepper and let it boil for a few more minutes. After that, in a pan heat the oil, add mustard seeds, broken red chilli, curry leaves and saute well until the mustard seeds begin to pop. Add the tempering to the boiling rasam and switch off the flame.


Enjoy this yummy vegan or vegetarian soup on its own or with hot rice. It is also a good appetizer.
